Howard County Basketball Exhibit was at the Fair
Other panels in the exhibit had pictures of basketball teams from all city and county
schools. This picture is the 1942 Greentown High School team. Most of the players names
were listed. There was also a board where you could add your comments. Expect more
basketball displays in 2019!
Thank you for visiting the Howard County Basketball Exhibit at the Howard County 4-H
Fair, July 9-14. The exhibit was in the Round Barn in the northeast corner of the
fairgrounds. The exhibit was sponsored by the Greentown Historical Society. One panel
named "Barns and Basketball" showed pictures when many barns had basketball hoops,
some inside and some outside.
The Greentown Historical Society will host its annual Dinner meeting Thursday, November 1,
2018 in the Community Building at the 4-H fairgrounds in Greentown at 6:30 PM. The meeting
and program is open to the public.
Greentown Historical Society Annual Dinner is November 1
The program will be presented by Craig Trott from his archival collection of photographs
and stories of Eastern Howard County. Mr. Trott is an avid historian, graduate of Eastern
High School, retired deputy sheriff and columnist for the Kokomo Perspective.
The meal will be catered by Main Occasions Catering of Greentown at a cost of $20 per
person. The menu will consist of two meats, side dishes and dessert with a drink included.
Reservations are required by October 26 for the meal and may be made by calling
